Motorbike taxi bought for orphanage in 2009

We hire a mini bus and with as many children as we can fit in, visit Christopher's family home, in Tahita Hills, two hours drive from Mombasa.

Chicken is plucked for evening meal-this with rice, has to feed twenty three of us!

The children help to prepare the vegetables.

En route we are forced to abandoned bus as road washed away by rain. This means scary mile walk in pitch darkness. Brave Mercy leads the way, we learn later, we walked along the edge of unfenced game reserve!

Chris outside house 6 am, after rather fitful nights sleep.

The children carry water from well for us.

Time to return to orphanage.

We decide to embellish them all as honourary Welshmen and women!

A little ceremony and some gifts for the teachers.

We have brought over a suitcase of clothes for the children and they put on an impromptu fashion show for us.
